To train, you need only some
loose clothing (a tracksuit would be ideal) as it is not necessary to purchase
a Karate suit (GI) immediately. You will train in bare feet, and all jewellery
(earrings, rings etc.) must be removed or, if this is not possible, covered
with tape to avoid injury.
Cost of training is £2.00 for
children and £3.00 for adults per lesson. The club is a members' club, which
means that all profit made from the lessons is used to subsidise trips to
championships and courses and other events.
The minimum age that we take
students is six years of age and in the case of young children we would like a
parent to stay around during the child's first lesson so that the child is
reassured he/she hasn't been deserted, and the parents can see that he/she is
being taught properly.
If the person joining the
class has a medical condition such as asthma, epilepsy or some other such
difficulty could you please make this clear to the instructor.
It would not prevent that person from training, but we need to be aware of it
for obvious reasons.
